It is possible to
have a home lawn as rich and healthy as the
fairways at your favourite golf course. While
the same turfgrass seed and fertilizer may
not be the answer, the diversity of products
available, including mixes and blends, ensures
we have the selection to meet every need.
A good lawn can control erosion, filter out
pollution, protect the home from fire hazards,
help control vermin, and provide the perfect
canvas for other plants and trees. The grass
species used for home lawns include many cultivars
of bluegrass, fescue and ryegrass, which are
all attractive and grow well during cooler
months. For the home lawn, mixtures are often
the best choice with bluegrass making up 55
to 60 per cent of the blend. Establishment
of a lawn by seeding should not be taken lightly,
including only purchasing the highest quality
seed and fertilizer available, proper soil
preparation and unfailing maintenance.
